MELODIC ARPEGGIOS FOR LEAD GUITAR

by Mark Galbo Book/CD pack.

Most melodies are derived from the chords of a song (rather than scales) so knowing arpeggios will help your solos become more coherent, melodic and relaxed. This book demystifies arpeggios and demonstrates their application in an easy-to-understand format. Covers: arpeggio forms, arpeggios melodies, relative mode, modal melodies, adding the blues sound, more. The material is presented in the context of "Jam Tracks" which you can play-along with on the CD. Note/tab. 87 pp.

Beginning Fingerstyle Blues Guitar

By Mark Galbo and Arnie Berle,

Book/CD pack. "I'm not talking out of the top of my hat, man!" With those few well -chosen words Arnie Berle gave me my start in the book writing business. The year was 1989 and I was living in New York City, playing clubs and subways mostly - I literally jumped at the chance to write a book with the great jazz educator. "Just imagine there's one person sitting in front of you and teach that person to play - don't lose that person!" That was Arnie's advice on book writing. A more difficult book to write, perhaps, but also the kind of book that can become a guitar players' good friend.

Our collaboration resulted in BFBG, published in 1993, which has now sold almost 30,000 copies worldwide. It is always a great feeling to meet students who have had a positive experience with the book and from the numbers there seem to be quite a few!
